What is a Favicon?
According to
Wikipedia, a favicon (short for "favorites icon"), also known as a page icon or an urlicon, is a small icon associated with a particular website or webpage. It is displayed next to the page URL in most modern web browsers and in browser bookmarks. It can also be shown in other cases where a site URL is referenced.
Why do I need to find it?
You might want to download a favicon from a site but there is no standard place to keep favicons. Web browsers know how to find them, but if you need to know the location of a favicon for a given site, your web browser will not tell you where it got it. With other image files, you can right click on the image and get its properties, but web browsers don't offer the same feature for favicons. Now you can use the Favicon Finder to locate favicons.
